Distant Melody is a lyrics archive dedicated to the forgotten or obscure songs from children's films, television shows, musicals, commercials, and other forms of entertainment. We hope to rekindle fond memories of the songs from our childhoods as well as introduce them to newer generations.

Updates and Announcements

March 2, 2007: Submit, Request, and Correct lyrics through the New Forum!
The submit/request forms have been down a long time, but now you can finally request and submit lyrics again through the new forums!

You do not have to register with the forums to submit, request, and correct lyrics or help fulfill requests. I'm hoping that by using forums instead of forms, updates can be made more frequently and that more people will be able to get involved with sharing lyrics. In addition, if you do register with the forums, you can post in the general chat areas.

I hope that this new method works out well, but if there are too many problems with it or people have trouble using the forums, I will try and find another way to deal with requests and submissions.

August 1, 2006: Song of the Month Rotated, Vacation Notice
The song of the month for August is "The Melody Within" from Rigoletto.

Also, I will be away on vacation from August 6th to August 20th, so there won't be any updates during that time.

July 9, 2006: Song of the Month Rotated
The songs of the month for June/July are from two Faerie Tale Theatre episodes: "I'm Nobody's Baby" from Sleeping Beauty and "My Maiden Fair" from Snow White. I apologize for the late rotation, but I was having computer trouble. I hope these two songs make up for the delay!

May 1, 2006: Song of the Month Rotated
The song of the month for April is "When the River Meets the Sea" from Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas.

April 20, 2006: New Affiliate
Distant Melody is now affiliated with Disney-Dreams.net, a huge resource for all things Disney.

April 1, 2006: New Song of the Month
Finally, a new song of the month! 10,000 Miles from Fly Away Home.

March 24, 2006: All Lyric Pages Up to Date, Corrections, What's Next
All of the lyric pages now have a cleaner layout. Each section's main page has a new setup so it should be easier to browse.
